Kiyoshi “Coach Fish” Fish

Coach Fish began his scouting career as a football talent scout working with an NFL agent, where he evaluated football prospects and worked with college athletes pursuing opportunities at the professional level. That experience built his understanding of talent evaluation, athletic measurables, film study, player development, and the characteristics that separate athletes as they progress to higher levels of competition.

He later expanded his scouting and evaluation work into the high school sports landscape, covering and evaluating athletes as a scout and writer for Prep Girls Hoops and Prep Hoops, while also contributing coverage within competitive soccer. His experience includes attending high school, club, showcase and national events to identify emerging prospects, evaluate under-the-radar talent, and provide insight into athlete development and college recruiting.

As the founder of Coach Fish Recruiting & Academic Scholarships, he works directly with student-athletes and families navigating the college recruiting process. His approach goes beyond athletic ability and exposure, emphasizing academics, communication with college programs, honest evaluations of an athlete’s potential level, and finding the right overall college fit. That work has allowed him to build relationships with college coaches and programs across multiple sports and levels of competition.

For Coach Fish, this work is about more than rankings, offers, statistics and wins. It is about identifying talent, telling athletes’ stories, educating families, and creating opportunities for deserving student-athletes to be seen.
